Responsibilities

  • Designing, maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment products, or systems for industrial, Commercial or commercial domestic purposes.
  • Preforming a wide range of (engineering tasks by operating computer – assisting design or engineering software and equipment
  • Conferring with the Board and other internal stakeholders to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects
  • Establishing construction, manufacturing or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations
  • Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies
  • Supervising or training project team members
  • Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation
  • Maintaining electrical equipment
  • Working with a variety of technicians
  • Design of electrical/electronic engineering services in public buildings and construction works.
  • Repair and maintenance of electrical/ equipment’s installations for the Assembly buildings and facilities.
  • Undertaking projects.
  • Preparation of specifications for new equipment.
  • Processing of tenders for electrical/electronic installation work.
  • Offering consultations, advice and support in the related field.
  • Any other duties assigned by time to time

Qualifications

  • A bachelor‘s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Be registered as a graduate member of engineering registration Board of Kenya.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Licensed as a professional engineer
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a public institution.
  • Satisfy the requirement of chapter six of the constitution
  • A senior management course is an added advantage

Candidates interested in the above position must have the following clearances:

  • A certificate of good conduct
  • A clearance certificate from the higher Educations Loans Board
  • A tax compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority
  • A certificate from the ethics and Anti – corruption commission
