JOB TITLE: SALES MANAGER

LOCATION: MOMBASA

TERM: CONTRACT

Our client is looking for a high-performing Sales Manager to help us meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth targets by keeping the company competitive and innovative. You will be responsible for maximizing our sales team potential, crafting sales plans and justifying those to plans to the upper management.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee an organization’s sales policies, objectives and initiatives. Set short- and long-term sales strategies and evaluate effectiveness of current sales programs. Recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
  • Communicate with clients to understand their sales goals and objectives
  • Identify current sales process bottlenecks and inconsistencies
  • Monitor and report on KPIs regularly
  • Identify opportunities for product and service up-sell
  • Identify opportunities for new client acquisition
  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team
  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure its’ strong presence
  • Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives
  • Determine annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies; analyzing trends and results
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for the region; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products
  • Manage, develop, coach, control and motivate the sales force to develop their skill to ensure that a high professional standard is achieved and monthly sales target and KPI target are met
  • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the sales team and manage the sales program accordingly
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Create compelling sales pitches.
  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status

Requirements

  • Bachelor/ Masters degree in sales, marketing and/or business administration or a related field
  • 5 year experience as sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Ability to hire and train new sales representatives.
  • Ability to resolve customer satisfaction issues.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to present to large and small audiences.
  • Ability to negotiate price, other concessions and terms and conditions.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Experience of religiously using a CRM
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
