Pursuant to County Government Act section 59 (1) (a) and (b) and the constitution of Kenya 2010, the County Public Service Board of Marsabit wishes to recruit competent and qualified citizens to fill the following vacant positions in the under listed County departments.

CPSBM 10/WENR/27/1/2021: Supply Chain Management Officer I (Job Group K) – 2 posts

Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

Responsibilities

  • Estimating and establishing cost parameters and budgets for purchases Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing Create and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliers;
  • Making professional decisions in a fast-paced environment;
  • Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options;
  • Develops plans for purchasing equipment, services and supplies;
  • Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts ensure that the products and supplies are high quality;
  • Create and maintain inventory of all incoming and current supplies;
  • Maintain and update list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development Working with team members and Procurement Manager to complete duties as needed

Qualifications                                                                                                                                                   

  • Be a Kenyan citizen;
  • Be in possession of at least Bachelor‘s Degree in any of the following disciplines- Commerce, Business Administration (Supply Management Option),
  • In addition they must have served at the level of supply chain management Assistant II at least three (3) years in a large government or private institution
  • Must be conversant with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (PPADA) 2015
  • Applicants must be of high integrity and able to supervise a large number of
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
  • Be registered with Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
  • Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
