Terms of Service: Three years renewable contract,


  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized Institution.
  • Higher Diploma in Palliative care nursing, MSc Nursing or an accredited Palliative program
  • Minimum of one year from working in a busy Oncology Center of a busy Hospital.
  • Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Certificate in BLS and Computer application skills from a recognized institution.


  • Report to the oncologist;
  • Palliative nursing care to cancer patients in the MDT;
  • Comprehensive patient assessments;
  • Pain and Symptom management;
  • Management of treatment side effects;
  • Patient navigation activities;
  • Initiating, organizing and facilitating family conferences and advance care planning;
  • End of life and bereavement care;
  • Clinical research in palliative care;
  • Advocacy; mentorship and teaching; policy formulation and implementation
  • Maintenance of personal professional competency and participation in the continued professional development by self-study, attendance at scientific meetings, and participation in internal training programs.
