 Our client is an Asset Tracking, Motor Vehicle Valuation and Telematics company based in Nairobi. They seek to recruit a commercially savvy General Manager to scale the business to new levels of growth and operational efficiency.

Job Summary

The General Manager should be a results-driven leader with a track record of progressive growth and accomplishment in the telematics industry. The ideal candidate should be a proactive manager and strategic problem-solver with a record of achieving challenging profit goals while consistently acquiring new customers and expanding operations. To be successful in this role, you should be tenacious in pursuing new revenue streams and business growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Researching and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Encourage, train and motivate employees to maximize performance.
  • Coordinate monthly budgets, manage profit and loss and consistently meet desired margin targets.
  • Streamline operational efficiencies by coordinating staff development and succession planning
  • Design sales and service strategies to improve revenue and retention.
  • Enhance operational performance by developing effective business development strategies, systems and procedures.
  • Collaborate with staff to maximize customer satisfaction, streamline procedures and improve bottom-line profitability.
  • Develop and implement promotional strategies to drive business success and maintain budgetary guidelines.
  • Track weekly sales to develop senior leadership reports for business development planning
  • Reduce costs by negotiating with vendors and suppliers for better prices
  • Boost customer base, acquiring new customers and identifying needs to deliver relevant products.
  • Set and administer annual operating budget, consistently maintaining controls and preventing overages.
  • Consistently comply with company policies and government regulations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Management or Master’s in business administration
  • 10+ years of experience in successfully managing a similar business function and Sound knowledge of the telematics industry
  • New market penetration strategy, with Market trends understanding
  • Outstanding people skills
  • Ability to manage complex budgets
  • Excellent communication & Interpersonal skills
  • Product Development and Project Management skills
