Job Title: Human Resource Officer (HRO)

Job Location: Position based in Nairobi

St John Kenya is a first aid and health charity organization incorporated in Kenya under the St John Ambulance of Kenya Act, Cap. 259 of the Laws of Kenya with mandates to provide emergency medical care promote charitable works aimed at reducing human suffering and to provide technical reserves to the medical services of the Government among other functions. The Organization is looking for a Human Resource Officer (HRO) to help manage its employees.

The HRO is responsible for Employee relations, welfare, HR data and Records. The role will be expected to coordinate health insurance plans and other benefits, including enrolment and terminations in a timely and efficient manner. The role will also prepare and generate various reports for employees and management action.

Responsibilities

  • Providing counselling on policies and procedures to
  • Overseeing the health and safety of all
  • Preparing job descriptions, advertising vacant positions, and managing the employment
  • Ensure all new entrants are properly inducted and trained in all policies, rules and
  • Ensure proper record-keeping of employee information in physical and digital
  • Assist with employee performance management and
  • Coordinate with insurance companies to resolve employee insurance
  • Prepares annual compensation and benefits summarystatements
  • Maintains compliance with government and other state regulations concerning
  • Develop short term and long term HR planningstrategies
  • Management of staff attendance andleave
  • Management of employee relations including employees disciplinary issues, grievance and conflict and document the

Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resource
  • At least 8 years verifiable experience in a similar or higher
  • Full understanding of HR functions and Labour
  • High sense of confidentiality and
  • Great Interpersonal and customer care
  • High-level proficiency in computer skills, especially MS Excel and
  • Registration with IHRM will be an added
  • Volunteer experience will be an addedadvantage
